Brain Challenged Crazy Mofo

Another brain fart from the

mentally/morally challenged

leader of the 700 Club. Glad I'm

not mentally challenged enough

to be a member.

It's getting old, these hate filled, wacky revelations of Pat, but shit, why is he still given air time? This is what troubles me about the outspoken religiously insane. If Joe Average on the street went to the authorities and said, "look God has spoken to me and you have to get me to the TV stations to warn the public..." we know Joe Average would be in for a psychiatric assessment. This guy can do that all he wants and no one in authority has a little talk with him, you know, Pat, don't take this personally but you're sick and need help. God is not talking to you, you need help, you're delusional, possibly schizophrenic.etc.

People who hear voices need psychiatric help, yet people who think God is speaking to them are given a pass if they have status in a church . Isn't free speech limited when one encourages murder or assassinations , or fear mongering the public with outrageous claims that cause some sort of public distress?

Personally, I think he should be sedated and taken for a nice long evaluation, before God tells him to do something really dangerous, like run for president.

didn't he try running for president once? Maybe it was some other jesus freak.

Yeah, he sure is a headcase. The fact that he can still command an audience is a sad statement about mental health in the US.

He likely is having hallucinations and his busy brain may need calming.
Auditory hallucinations are quite frightening for people who aren't the frenzied religious types and they usually want them to stop.
If he's not a confused schizophrenic than he's a malicious asshole who should be ignored.
Yes it was this headcase who ran for the repuke nomination for president in 1988.

My favourite Sam Harris quote applies just as well to Pat Robertson :

“The President of the United States has claimed, on more than one occasion, to be in dialogue with God. If he said he was talking to God through his hairdryer, this would precipitate a national emergency. I fail to see how the addition of a hairdryer makes the claim more ridiculous or offensive.”

Excellent quote Alison. I like Sam. People who believe this stuff are pretty isolated though from reason, however, this gentle mocking is probably the best approach.
It reminds people at least that their beliefs are irrational ,so be careful of your actions that follow from this faith because rational people are watching and will be holding you to account.

That's great, Alison! Thinking back, if Nixon (bastard that he was) had claimed that god spoke through him, impeachment proceedings would have started far sooner.
